The social messaging service Twitter has figured prominently during recent unrest in Iran. Activists have used short Twitter messages to share information about protests and to counter the government's official statements. Closer to home, Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, and other forms of new media are also remaking American politics. But can they bring change to the tradition-bound Rhode Island state house?
